Fashion Expo Arabia is an exciting new event that will place Abu Dhabi as another essential date in the fashion calendar. Ideally located between the Far East, Africa and Europe, it is an international gateway and one of the most dynamic and diverse cities in the world. The huge development of the UAE has led to international recognition and the capital Abu Dhabi stands proud as the Cultural heart.

The countries up and coming status within the fashion world demands an event that will help establish the city among Paris , London , New York , Tokyo , Milan as one of the global fashion icon cities.
The huge building projects that are taking place across the region include what will be the biggest shopping malls in the world. Visitors have flocked to the region encouraged by tax free shopping and excellent resort facilities.

Abu Dhabi is also one of the richest cities in the world, enjoying one of the highest GDP rates. This is reflected in the national love of shopping. There is a very high percentage of young adults who are wealthy and fashion conscious giving way to the annual growth factor in the retail sector of 12.7%. Clothing and accessory stores account for more than 27% of the retail space. The UAE is politically stable, economically sound, culturally excepting and has an almost non existent crime rate which has helped to make it the 2nd most visited countries in the world.

Optical Middle East provides a gateway to a wealthy and rapidly developing market. The past years have seen huge expansion in the economies of the Arabian Gulf States fuelled by enormous oil and gas revenues and highly successful moves in to large scale retail, property and tourism ventures

Imports of quality optical products across the Middle East were estimated at over US$2.2 Billion in 2007.

Retail space in the Arabian Gulf is growing by over 50% per year and is expected to exceed 11 Million square metres by the end of 2010. The United Arab Emirates alone boasts some of the largest shopping malls in the world. Many of these malls contain a wide variety of modern high quality opticians and outlets retailing sunglasses.

Abu Dhabi currently boasts the highest GDP in the world at US$46,147. The Arabian Gulf States boast year round sunshine, high tax free incomes, and young fashion conscious populations. The combination of these factors means that regional consumers are happy to spend significant sums of money on optical products.

The Emirates has the world’s second highest rate of diabetes which in turn is leading to a dramatic rise in the number of visually impaired requiring eye surgery and treatment. Spending on Medical & Surgical products is currently booming with an estimated total import value of in excess of US$92 Billion in 2007 with a yearly growth rate of 13.6%.

Opticians enjoy higher than average per capita business based on the fact that over 50% of people in the United Arab Emirates require vision correction.

Shoe and Leather Fair is a spectacular new event that will bring together every sector of the shoe and leather industry in an exciting, superbly located and stylish way.

Sited at the hub between the major manufacturing countries and located in the fantastic ADNEC in the UAE’S capital city of Abu Dhabi, the show is destined to attract some of the major buying powers in the world. The newly developed and immense shopping centers and outlets that are currently underway in the region, guarantees that local interest will also be phenomenal.

This will not be “just another trade show” but an event that provides buyers from the independent to the multiple retailer, new to established brands, a forum to meet face to face and to do business.

In line with the concept of the exhibition, we are creating an event where shoes and leather products are showcased in an inspiring way to capture the essence of the region. Boasting one of the highest GDP’s in the world, there is certainly a vast market in Abu Dhabi and the surrounding areas to encourage this event to become the international trading platform for the shoe and leather industry. The local population alone has one of the highest personal spending budgets in the world.

With a wide and well prepared advertising campaign, visitors are expected from a wide country radius.
